MONTGOMERY COUNSELING & WELLNESS PLLC

Wherever you are,
growth is possible.

A warm, compassionate, evidence-based counseling practice for people who are tired of feeling stuck, and ready to find out what's possible.

YOU'RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE

Real change is possible.
Not overnight, but really.

Wherever you are right now - whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for something to be different - you don't have to figure it out alone.

Some days in therapy will feel hard. Some days will feel like nothing is happening. And some days will surprise you. All of it is part of the work.

I specialize in working with athletes and people who are ready to stop going through the motions and start building a life that feels purposeful and hopeful . . . a life that matters beyond results and outcomes.

You don't need to have the right words or know exactly what you need. You just need to be willing to show up.

01.

Hope is a clinical tool

I genuinely believe in your capacity to grow and change. That belief is part of the work.

02.

Honest, not just comforting

Some sessions will feel hard. That's not a sign something is wrong, it's a sign the work is real. Growth often arises from leaning into discomfort.

03.

Evidence-based, human-centered

ACT, RO-DBT, CBT, psychodynamic, somatic, and sport psychology frameworks - delivered with warmth.

MEET BRIDGET

Bridget Montgomery, LCPC

I blend my background as a competitive runner with research-driven clinical training to help people build the mindset and skills that make a real difference - in sport, and in life. I work with athletes and non-athletes alike, people navigating anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and the quiet weight of not quite being okay.

I'm glad you are here.

HOW I CAN HELP

Services designed
for where you are

"I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it." — Maya Angelou

Individual Counseling

One-on-one therapy for people struggling with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the general weight of being a high-functioning person in a demanding world. Sessions are individualized - I don't use a one-size-fits-all approach.

Athlete Mental Health

Counseling specifically for athletes navigating the psychological complexity of competitive sport - from performance anxiety and identity to burnout, disordered eating, and the grief of injury or retirement. This is clinical work, not coaching.

RO DBT & ACT-Based Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Radically Open DBT (RO DBT) are among the most well-researched psychological approaches available. They don't try to eliminate uncomfortable thoughts and feelings - they build your ability to carry them without being controlled by them, while moving toward what matters most in your life.

If you've tried therapy before and felt like you were just talking in circles, these approaches tend to feel different. They're practical, skills-focused, and grounded in research.
